We left Half Moon Bay early and there was just a touch of fog in the air. Luckily the skies were clear. As we drove we happened upon two beaches that seemed lovely for a wedding. No crowds, nice coves, and perfect amounts of parking. Noted.
We drove into Santa Cruz. I really wanted to get some photos of the boardwalk. I took my photos, grabbed a package of salt water taffy and we were back on the road.
The only real appointment we had was at an estate in Carmel Highlands to look at a house to use as a potential venue. We drove 2 miles up a mountain to get to the estate. What a view! From up there you could see the fog roll in and move over the city below. The house was spectacular. Could we afford it? Probably not but what a view!
By this time we were starving, so we headed into Carmel. We ate at Forest in the Forge. Right away we noticed something odd. There were puppies and dogs all around in the waiting area. It was so cool to see a restaurant that actively invited the furry friends to enjoy a day out with their family. We ate and walked around downtown Carmel. A shopping center with a Kate Spade and Anthro temporarily distracted me.
We drove a small section of Pebble Beach’s 17-Mile Drive only on accident to get to our next beach to check out.
We also looked at a park/beach in Pacific Grove before driving to our Airbnb stop for the night to “check-in.” The house was nice but the meeting was odd. B and I felt a little out of place when we realized that we were to stay in an attached section of the house rather than the whole house. We relaxed for a little while and drove to a beach to watch the sunset and take photos.
It was fun until the rain came, that is when we retired to the bungalow for sleep! After our sleep, we headed to Big Sur (photos and post coming soon as well as our engagement photos)!
