I can’t believe how fast this week/ weekend has gone. I spent Friday night in the freezing Minnesota cold. St. Paul hosted the first ever Red Bull Crashed Ice in the US this past weekend, and I don’t know what took them so long to come here. It was awesome! 🙂
Thanks to my dad, I got a media pass and was able to get some insanely cool shots:

I spent the first half of the event talking to a very kind Finnish woman, named Heidi. She explained the ins and outs of the event. She had been shooting photos for the event since 2008. She was such an asset to have around. She explained how the event worked, and what the heck was going on.
And after I got a decent amount of good shots, I decided to move down so I could be near the finish. You would not believe how packed it was. No one was moving, at all! I was trying to get down but it was a million bodies and no one was moving. Finally I got as close to the fence as I possibly could and made my way to a media area. I must admit, that was an adventure in itself.
Crashed Ice was amazing! I can’t believe what the athletes do and how they can handle falling so hard on ice! EEEK! I don’t know if I could do it.
